Can I bring food into Aeon Cinema? Plastic bottles will be banned in 2025
Share
There is an Aeon Cinema nearby, so I often go there, and I always bring in popcorn and drinks that I have purchased at the cinema.
At the Aeon Cinema I frequent, I'm allowed to bring in sandwiches like shrimp and avocado from Subway, which is on the same floor, but I had a simple question : can I bring in other items like plastic bottles? So I did some research!
I buy popcorn using the UNEXT points I receive every month.

At Aeon Cinema, it was previously possible to bring in only certain food and drink items, but this will be prohibited from September 27, 2024.

Other items that can be brought in
- Bottled drinks: water, tea, sports drinks, etc.
- Baby food: milk, baby food, etc.
- Snacks
I asked the nearby Aeon Cinema and they said it was fine as long as it didn't disturb other customers.
(Things with strong smells, loud noises, etc.)
So I buy bottled drinks at Aeon Mall and bring them with me.
It's a lot cheaper than buying it at the cinema concession stand.
Instead, I've been upgrading my popcorn (from salty to caramel and chocolate!) and buying some churros, which are really filling!
Import ban to begin on September 27, 2024

Of course, you can still bring in popcorn and drinks purchased at Aeon Cinema, but it seems that items purchased at other restaurants and plastic bottles will be prohibited.

This is sad...!
I've been openly carrying bottled juice with me up until now, but now it's no good...
Is it a matter of viewing etiquette?
It seems that AEON Cinema will no longer allow outside food and drink from September 27th. While many other cinemas do not allow food and drink, AEON Cinema is the only one that does, so it was very useful... It's a shame 🥲
