This shortened operation has become standard in recent years, and for the New Year's holiday period from 2024 to 2025, the following operation has been widely adopted: closing at 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024, and opening at 11:00 a.m. and closing at 9:00 p.m. on January 1, 2025.

Gusto's New Year's holiday hours and crowds

Differences depending on location
Stores located within commercial facilities (such as malls and station buildings) generally operate according to the opening hours of the entire facility.
On New Year's Eve, most venues have merchandise sales that end at 7pm and food and drink sales that end between 7pm and 8pm, while on New Year's Day, merchandise sales typically start at 10am and food and drink sales at 11am.
Street-front stores tend to operate differently depending on their staffing and location, with stores in tourist areas and along major roads opening earlier than usual, while stores in residential areas tend to close earlier than usual.

Last year, the lunch menu was suspended from December 29, 2024 to January 4, 2025.
In previous years, morning service has been available as usual over the New Year holidays (usually from opening until 10:30am), but this may change due to shortened business hours.
Gusto's New Year's special menu
Gusto has expanded its takeout and delivery menu in preparation for the New Year holidays, offering large platters such as the Gusto hors d'oeuvre plate.
In the past, the "Happy Winter Sirloin Steak Set" was sold for a limited time, and included fried oysters and dessert, and was priced at up to 1,100 yen (tax included) cheaper than the total price of the individual items.
