Jingu Gaien Tokyo Christmas Market 2025: How to Enjoy It Without the Crowds
Share
The Tokyo Christmas Market is eagerly awaited every year with the arrival of winter.
The glittering illuminations and the warm aroma of mulled wine have become a staple of winter in Tokyo.
The 2025 event will be completely different from previous years!
It gets very crowded on weekends, so we recommend visiting on weekdays if possible.

Tokyo Christmas Market 2025 will be the largest ever held , and will offer a special experience that completes "one big Christmas story" by touring two venues: Meiji Jingu Gaien and Shiba Park (Onarimon Station Square).
Event Overview (Jingu Gaien Venue)

Details of the "Tokyo Christmas Market 2025 in Jingu Gaien" are as follows:
From Friday, November 21st to Thursday, December 25th, 2025 (35 days)
Venue: Meiji Jingu Gaien General Stadium in front of the Shotoku Memorial Art Gallery (2-3 Kasumigaoka-cho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo).

On the first day, it is open from 16:00 to 21:30, and on all other days it is open from 11:00 to 21:30 (last entry at 20:30, last order at 21:00).
The market will be filled with a fantastical atmosphere themed around Grimm's fairy tales and European stories, and will be filled with colorful lights and music, creating a festive Christmas atmosphere.
Event Overview (Shiba Park Venue)
"Tokyo Christmas Market 2025 in Shiba Park (Onarimon Station Square)" will be held with a different theme.
Friday, December 5th, 2025 to Thursday, December 25th, 2025 (21 days).
Venue: Tokyo Metropolitan Shiba Park Lot 4 (Onarimon Station Square) .
A traditional Christmas market will be recreated, bringing together the culture and crafts of various German cities, allowing you to enjoy a warm atmosphere just like in Germany.
Highlights of the 2025 Christmas Market
Here are some highlights of this year's Christmas market!
The appearance of a giant Christmas pyramid
At both venues (Jingu Gaien and Shiba Park), a full-scale Christmas pyramid approximately 14 meters high will be set up.
This is apparently the first time in the world that two Christmas pyramids of this scale have been erected side by side in one city at the same time!
I'm looking forward to it.
Common experiences and stories across venues
The concept is that by visiting the two venues, you can complete a special Christmas experience.
A stamp rally will be held in which the design will gradually emerge as you visit two venues, Shiba Park and Jingu Gaien.
There are six stamps in total, three at each venue, and if you collect them all you will get an art piece that can only be completed here.
Participation is free.
Dining and shopping at Jingu Gaien
At Jingu Gaien, you can enjoy hot chocolate reminiscent of a glamorous European street corner, as well as adorable menu items inspired by Grimm's fairy tales.
Miscellaneous items include hand cream, tea with eye-catching packaging designs, and European fairy gnome dolls.
There will also be workshops where you can make snow globes and aroma candles.
VIP Dome (only available at Jingu Gaien venue)
The VIP Dome, which was well-received in 2024, will be making a comeback this year exclusively at the Jingu Gaien venue.
The clear dome can accommodate up to six people and is equipped with a stove and blankets, allowing you to enjoy the warmth and atmosphere of a market.
As a bonus, the set includes a bottle of Nectar Imperial Rosé Luminous, a collaboration with Pharrell Williams, as well as food such as roast chicken and special roast beef.
An experience that can only be had at a Christmas market.
There is also an afternoon tea set available during the day.
Please note that the VIP Dome requires advance reservations.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony will be held in front of the Christmas Pyramid at Meiji Jingu Gaien venue from 4:30 pm on Friday, November 21st, the first day of the event.
The idol group CANDY TUNE will be joining the lighting ceremony as a special guest, livening up the venue.
